Perry Kiwanis Club Presents the 2013 Students of the Year

 

Each year the Perry Kiwanis Club recognizes Students of the Year from local schools. Each school choses their most outstanding student for the award. Please join us in congratulating them.

Perry Arts Center to Hold Summer Art Camp

Kids will be able to learn how to draw, paint and make pottery at the Perry Arts Center this summer.

During six one-week art camps, kids 6-13 years old can attend for $100 per week.

Sessions are 9:30 a.m.-noon:

  • June 10-14,
  • June 17-21,
  • June 24-28,
  • July 8-12,
  • July 15-19,
  • July 22-26.

Join us Saturday May 4th at North Peach Park for the Battle of Byron. This year is going to be bigger and better with lots of room for family and friends. In addition to arts and crafts vendors, there will be the favorite activities like Mud Volleyball and the car show.There are always things for kids to do and this year is no exception. Don’t forget we’re honoring the Kentucky Derby at BoB. Be sure to wear your derby hats & get in on the fun. The Parade of Hats & Derby Hats contest starts at 11:00am Saturday. The Perry Area Chamber of Commerce held a Ribbon Cutting for Applebee’s located at 100 Valley Drive on Wednesday, April 17th. 

Chamber Chairman Beth McLaughlin along with members of the Board of Directors and other Perry business leaders were present to celebrate with General Manager Dan Pittman and his staff.  The restaurant began a remodel project on Sunday, April 14th   and was completed and reopen on Wednesday, April 17th.

Guests will enjoy a more updated look in the restaurant’s newly refurbished interior.

Perry Chamber Youth Leadership Raffle Winner Announced

 

The 2012-2013 Perry Area Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership Class is pleased to announce the winner of the Perry Youth Leadership Raffle.   Paulette Tompkins’ name was drawn by Raffle sponsor Patty Bryant with Bryant Travel during the Dogwood Festival in Downtown Perry on April 14th. 

Patty was joined by the 2012-2013 Youth Leadership Class along with the Mayor of Perry Jimmy Faircloth, members of the Perry Chamber Board of Directors and Chamber President and CEO Stacy Campbell. 

Paulette won a Cruise to the Bahamas sponsored by Bryant Travel. 

A portion of the proceeds from the Youth Leadership Raffle will be presented to the Brian Bowen Snack Sax Program of the Perry United Methodist Church during the Class graduation in May.
