Warner Robins, GA – Dale Newhart of Perry, Georgia has been selected as the Museum of Aviation Volunteer of the Quarter.  Dale and his wife, Carol, were honored at the Museum of Aviation Foundation Board of Directors Meeting held at the Museum on December 13. 

Dale spent four years in the U. S. Air Force from 1956 to 1960 at Lowrey AFB, Colorado; Niagara Falls, New York; and Big Springs, Texas as a weapons control system technician on F-102 fighter aircraft. After his Air Force service he attended Penn State University where he received an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering. He then spent the next 29 years in engineering and procurement with IBM.

After retirement, he worked a few part time jobs at golf courses and apple farms and in 1996 moved to Bonita Springs, Florida where he worked part time for The Florida Park Service and Hyatt’s Bently Village. He and his wife spent the next ten years hosting campgrounds throughout the United States with a six-weeks stint with the Alaska Park Service.

Dale came to the Museum of Aviation in February 2007 and since then has contributed over 1775 hours of volunteer service
