Perry Chamber Youth Leadership Class Graduates

 

During a ceremony held on Wednesday, May 8th at the Westfield School 21 students from Perry High School and Westfield graduated from the 2012-2013 Perry Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership program.  The annual program offers high school juniors the opportunity to develop leadership skills as well as immerse themselves in the workings of State, City and County Government among other opportunities for one-of-a-kind experiences throughout the year. 

 

The 2012-2013 class schedule allowed the students to meet leaders in their community and gain first-hand knowledge of what their jobs entail.  The experiences included:

 

August - Opening Day – Rozar Park

Sept. – City Government Day

October – Health and Human Services Day

November – Economic Development Day

December – Robins Air Force Base Day

January – Tourism Day

February – State Government Day

Join us Saturday May 4th at North Peach Park for the Battle of Byron. This year is going to be bigger and better with lots of room for family and friends. In addition to arts and crafts vendors, there will be the favorite activities like Mud Volleyball and the car show.There are always things for kids to do and this year is no exception. Mike Wallis Named As Vice President of Technology and Communications at Flint Energies

REYNOLDS/WARNER ROBINS/PERRY/UPATOI – Effective May 1, Mike Wallis will take on new duties as the Vice-President of Technology & Communications at Flint Energies. Wallis has 35 years of experience in electronics and communications technology, 24 of them at Flint Energies.

Wallis will become the 5th member of the Executive Team, reporting directly to CEO Bob Ray. Flint evaluated applications from eight candidates and conducted interviews with four finalists.

“Wallis has experience in technology-focused leadership in cooperative-altering projects, forums for strategic thinking, and raising day-to-day service standards for members and employees,” said Ray. “Mike is well prepared with professional talent and a Flint perspective to lead this critical endeavor for Flint’s current and future service to members.”
