HOUSTON COUNTY, GA – The Houston County Board of Education will honor employees who have served 45, 35 or 30 years in the Houston County School System today, Oct. 16, 2012.  A reception will be held in their honor at 12:30 p.m. at the Eric P. Staples central office in Perry. 

The reception is sponsored by H.E.A. Federal Credit Union and Stevi B’s.  During the 1:00 p.m. Board meeting, honorees will be called to the stage individually to be presented a framed certificate, years of service pin, Board of Education lapel pin and Board of Education medallion by Superintendent Dr. Robin Hines and members of the Board.  The H.E.A. Federal Credit Union will also present the honorees with a gift.

The HCBOE medallion features the system’s logo, mission and vision and is modeled after military challenge coins, a military tradition used to prove membership when challenged and to enhance morale.  The Board of Education has adopted this tradition and the Superintendent selectively awards the medallion. 

Faculty and staff who have served 25, 20, 15, 10 or 5 years in the school system will be honored by their school or department.  The Eric P. Staples building is located at 1100 Main Street in Perry.
