The Westfield School has recognized two students who have been selected as nominees for the 2013 Georgia Governor’s Honors Program:

Gehrig Broxton, a junior at Westfield, has been nominated in the area of Chemistry.   Gehrig is an Honors student and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Broxton.  He has received numerous academic awards and is a member of the Beta Club, Math Team, and Varsity Baseball team.

Elizabeth Bourque, a sophomore at Westfield, has been nominated in the area of Dance/Ballet.  Elizabeth is an Honors student and is a member of the Beta Club and Tri-Hi-Y Club.  She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brod Bourque.

The Governor’s Honors Program, known as GHP, is a residential summer program for gifted and talented high school juniors and seniors. The Governor’s Honors Program, known as GHP, is a residential summer program for gifted and talented high school juniors and seniors. More than 2900 students from across the state will be interviewed and auditioned, and from those nominees approximately 600 finalists will be chosen to participate in the 2013 program.
