"Dungeon Dan" Appears at Museum's Pirate Camp

“Dungeon Dan”, otherwise known as Dan Hart, the volunteer coordinator at the Museum of Aviation, will appear in full pirate garb this Friday, July 15, for pre-schoolers attending the Museum’s Pirate Camp.

That's according to a aMuseum of Aviation news release.

A member of several pirate “crews,” he and his wife Kathy Hart (Kruel Kathy) are true pirate lovers and participate in parades and festivals in the Tampa Bay Florida area where Dan is from and in Valdosta and Atlanta as well.

Dan has been interested in pirates ever since his dad took him to the pirate parades in Tampa as a kid.  His costume is genuine “theater grade” according to Dan “that you can’t buy at Wal-Mart.”  The former Chief of Police of Warner Robins from 1993 to 2003, Dan has been taking care of approximately 100 volunteers at the Museum of Aviation since 2004.  Kathy is the director of HODAC in Warner Robins.

Dan will bring some pirate “treasure” for the kids to see and pose for pictures between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Friday.

Pirate Camp has been going on all week at the Museum of Aviation for approximately 23 pre-schoolers and kindergarten students.  The kids are learning about numbers and counting and will be doing a treasure hunt on their final day.
