Police: Man in 'altered state' causes lockdown at Perry school | Crime
Mossy Creek Middle School went on lockdown Wednesday afternoon as a precaution.
An "unauthorized person" entered the school and law enforcement was on the scene, according to Houston County Schools' spoksperson Beth McLaughlin. She said at no point was anyone in danger.
Perry police Capt. Heath Dykes says a man in an "altered state" came out of the woods, ran into the office and claimed someone was chasing him and his family.
Police on the scene called Richie Wilson Jr.'s family, who were all at work and police discovered no one was chasing him.
Dykes says the school was locked down as a precaution against the person allegedly chasing Wilson.
Wilson is charged with disrupting a school and a false report of a crime.
