Sixth Annual Taylor County Race for Literacy 5K
The sixth annual Taylor County Race for Literacy 5K will be run on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at the Reynolds Ball Park, South Liberty Street, Reynolds, Georgia.

The race is registered with the

2013 Run & See Georgia Grand Prix Series & the Macon Tracks Club’s Piedmont Sports Medicine Race Series.

Following the race there will be refreshments and awards.

Friday at 6 p.m-enjoy a meal of “Southern” cooked barbeque while listening to “Southern Gospel” music in the park with your friends and family.

The 9th Annual Peaches to the Beaches Annual Yard Sale is scheduled for March 8 and 9th along Hwy. 341.

Dodge County’s official site is located at the Municipal Center in Chauncey, GA.

According to the website, the Peaches to the Beaches Annual Yard Sale now covers over 200 miles from Barnesville and Culloden to Brunswick and the Golden Isles in Georgia.

Perry High Students Win Art Awards

 

Six Perry High School students won three Gold Keys and six Honorable Mentions for art entered into the 2013 Scholastic Art and Writing competition (SAWC).  The students and their art teacher, Catherine Heller, will attend an awards banquet on Mar. 23, 2013, at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Atlanta.

Congratulations to the following students:

·         two Gold Keys - Steven Le, for his drawings titled “Bike” and “Skeleton”

·         Gold Key - Hayley Stepp-Gold for her mixed media titled “Circular Motion”

·         Honorable Mention – Steven Le (two awards), Sarah Whiddon, Autumn Wilson, Courtney Stepp and Lanisha Wilson.
