750 Students Compete in Regional Science & Engineering Fair | Families
HOUSTON COUNTY, GA - The Houston Regional Science and Engineering Fair will be held Jan. 30 – Feb. 1, 2013, at the Robins Air Force Base Museum of Aviation in the Century of Flight Hangar. An awards ceremony will be held Feb. 1, at 6:30 p.m. Approximately 750 middle and high school students from Houston County and Peach County public and private schools will compete.
The fair is open to the public on Feb. 1 from 10:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Students will setup their display boards on Jan. 29, from 3:00 to 5:30 p.m. Judges will interview participants on Jan. 30.
Four individual grand prizes will be awarded - two for the junior division and two for the senior division. One team grand prize will also be awarded to a senior team. Forty-four students will be honored as first-place qualifiers. Winners will compete in the Georgia Science and Engineering Fair in Athens, Ga. at the University of Ga., March 22 - 23, 2013. The Best of Fair projects in the senior division will represent our county at the International Fair held May 13 – 17, 2013, in Phoenix.
