Community Health Works (CHW) will be holding the 2nd Annual Central Georgia Regional Health Summit on Nov. 9 at the Georgia National Fairgrounds (Miller-Murphy-Howard Building) in Perry, GA. Register at www.cgrhs.org. This is an all-day event, beginning at 7:30 a.m. and ending at 3:00 p.m.

In October of 2009, CHW convened more than 100 community leaders representing the top minds in health care and health policy, local government, local school districts, faith-based and civic organizations from across 7 counties in central Georgia (Bibb, Crawford, Houston, Jones, Monroe, Peach, and Twiggs).

The purpose of the summit is to discuss the impact that unhealthy behaviors have on our community with a primary focus on the prevalence of obesity and related chronic diseases, including diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
