Mossy Creek Festival Kicks off in Perry | News
Homemade arts and crafts, folk music and food are some of the things that are drawing crowds to the Mossy Creek Festival in Perry.
Over 100 artists and craftsmen are selling homemade items and demonstrating how to make them. The festival includes performances from folk artists and vendors are also selling homemade desserts and other food.
Entertainment Coordinator for the festival Bill Torrance says they've hosted more than 60 shows since 1979. He says now they're scaling back by hosting the festival once a year. "By having it once a year, we were hoping that people would not take it for granted and say they'll go to the next one within six months. They know that if they miss October, it's going to be a whole year before they can come again," says Bill Torrance.
He says attendance numbers show the fall festival was more popular than the one they used to host in April.
The Mossy Creek Festival will run October 20th from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $1 for children.
