Houston School Board revises zoning plan | News
The Houston County Board of Education has revised its plan to rezone districts for some of its elementary schools after hearing input from parents.
According to a news release, Langston Elementary, a new school, will open in Perry for the 2014-2015 school year.
After backlash from parents, the board has decided to extend the lines for those zoned for Matt Arthur Elementary as far south as Bear Branch Road and as far east as highway 247. Also they've included those residing on Ivy Glen Drive to those on Golden Ingot Court to attend Tucker Elementary. The previous plan had students going to Kings Chapel.
You can check out the new proposed zones at the school board's website.
Board members will vote on the new plan Tuesday, February 11th.
