Zombie 5k and fun run coming to Perry in Oct. | News
So, the zombie apocalypse might not ever happen, but that shouldn't stop you from thinking about it.
There are so many TV shows, books, games and movies talking about them, so one company decided to break the fourth wall even more by bringing zombies to a 5K.
On Saturday, October 25, the zombies are coming to Perry at the Guardian Center. Runners will avoid obstacles and other participants dressed as zombies. The goal is to survive and reach the finish line.
The race starts at 9 a.m. that Saturday, and you can either sign up alone or with a team. Don't feel like running? They have zombie spots open too.
Early registration gets you a t-shirt and a finisher's medal and costs $49. Day-of-race registration is $75.
Zombie actors will receive a t-shirt, medal, a beverage and makeup.
Zombies! Run is a popular fitness app that turns running into a game, where it uses yours phone's GPS as you run and an episodic storytelling system to help you get in shape while participating in an interactive zombie story. The app is available on iOS and Android.
