Perry businessman Larry Walker III announces run for Tolleson's seat
News

Just one day after Ross Tolleson announced he was leaving for health reasons, Perry businessman Larry Walker III announced he will run for the State Senate District 20 seat.

Walker made it official Wednesday. In a press release, Walker said people from all over the district have encouraged him to run.

Walker also said he "knows firsthand the time and hard work a campaign requires," referring to his recent run for Georgia House District 146. He lost that race to fellow Republican Shaw Blackmon.

As the founder of Walker Insurance Agency, Walker is active in the Perry business community.

Walker also expressed his thanks to Tolleson: "I first want to thank my good friend Ross Tolleson for his years of tireless service to our community and to all of Georgia as our State Senator."

Senate District 20 includes Bleckley, Houston, Laurens and Pulaski Counties.
