Hundreds gather in Perry for Christmas on Carroll Street | News
Thanksgiving has come to an end, but the holidays are just beginning. Hundreds gathered in downtown Perry Friday evening, all in the Christmas Spirit.
"It's so exciting, we love the holidays, we've been decorating all day," said Jennifer Wilson.
She brought her daughter Laney Grace for the classic Christmas tradition: a sit on Santa's lap, and whispers of Christmas wishes.
"I want a bike," said Laney Grace Wilson.
She wasn't the only one to ask Santa for a gift. Grown-ups, bearing no shame, took full advantage of St. Nick's presence.
"Santa Claus and Christmas is for everyone," said Jennifer Davis.
Some kids said Christmas on Carroll Street wasn't their first run-in with Mr. Claus. They even know him personally.
"He showed me pictures on his phone of Mrs. Claus and their reindeer," said Adler Nation.
Though Kris Kringle came without his usual crew, carolers still gave him respect, with some familiar tunes.
"We're very elated, we're on cloud nine. This is Brylon's first Christmas and so we're just very blessed and fortunate, having a lot of fun with our family in Georgia.
An old school fire truck decorated in Christmas lights took people on a ride around town as well.
