Dogs Compete in Agility Competition in Perry | News
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
More than 100 people from Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina and Canada attended Saturday's U.S.D.A.A. Sirius Dog Agility Show at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry.
They tested their dogs' jumping skills and agility on a series of obstacle courses.
Prizes ranged from $20 to $1,000 and the competition featured a variety of skill levels, from beginners to masters.
Competitors say the best part of the day is cementing their bond with mans best friend.
"When you run well with your dog both of you are in sync and you hit and it all works right, it is just a rush, it is just like competing in anything," says Elaine Boris of Watkinsville.
"The bond you get when running your dog in agility is absolutely incredible," says event coordinator Meryl Sheard. "You can't be a good team unless the two of you are a good team together."
The event is open to all breeds and will be open until 4 p.m. Sunday.
