A Florida man died in a one-car accident and his wife was treated at a Macon hospital Tuesday afternoon.
Houston County Coroner Danny Galpin identified the man as 54-year old Miguel Rodriguez of Homestead, Florida.
The Georgia State Patrol says it happened around 3 p.m. near mile marker 134, just south of Perry.
Sgt. Mike Maynard of the Georgia State Patrol says the Florida couple was driving north on Interstate 75.
The man, who was a passenger in the car driven by his wife, was ejected from the car and died on the scene. Maynard said investigators don't believe he was wearing a seat belt.
The wreck caused at least two smaller accidents on I-75 north and closed two of the three lanes for more than two hours.
Galpin told 13WMAZ that reports from the Medical Center of Central Georgia indicate that the man's wife did not suffer life threatening injuries.
