Houston County Schools Name Unruh Newest Board Member | News

The Houston County Board of Education named their newest board member Tuesday.

Rick Unruh will fill the term of former board member Tom Walmer.

Walmer resigned from his post for personal reasons last month.

Unruh is currently a pastor at Trinity United Methodist Church in Macon, according to his resume.

He retired in December from Houston County Schools, where he was a media specialist. Unruh also worked as Northside High School's choral director for 25 years.

Unruh's first meeting will be at a work session in April.
