Sen. Tolleson Reports from the Capital

--Submitted by the Senate Press Office, written by Senator Tolleson.

Every year, I enjoy visiting with all the bright and talented students from the 20th Senate District who visit the State Capitol.  This week I met with the Youth Leadership of Warner Robbins, a program designed by the local Chamber of Commerce to expose young leaders to the dynamic community and encourage their input and creativity.  Also from Warner Robbins were several members of the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) who visited the Capitol during National FCCLA Week to celebrate this student organization that helps young men and women become leaders.

Education Board Member Publishes Book

Houston County Board of Education Board member Dr. Toby Hill has published “Never Hug a Belly Dancer and 99 Other Meditations for Men.”

A habitual journal writer, Hill decided to publish his writings in hopes they will be of benefit to others, a Houston County Board of Education news release says.

When asked about the title, Dr. Hill said, “It basically means sometimes what you see and what you desire is not what you really want.”

Amazon.com describes the book as:  “Devotionals for men who seek strength, encouragement and direction in life. Toby Hill shares his life-experiences with every man and how he has dealt with many conflicts, situations and decision-making. It takes a somewhat humorous look at life and gives one man's views of resolution and how to achieve the ultimate.”

They not only enjoy meeting and sharing enthusiasm for this series but love helping local and national charities while having fun.

How You Can Help:
Twilight Moms will have an event on Dec. 3 from 10 p.m.-Midnight at the Galleria in Centerville.  Twilight Moms will celebrate the release of Eclipse on DVD but will also have several fundraisers during the event.  They will have a Cookies for Kids with Cancer bake sale, will collect items for Christmas for the Children’s Hospital and will also collect canned food items for Monroe County EMS.
