Linda Horne, Assistant Superintendent for School Operations, was presented Outstanding Woman in Education, award at the March 12, 2012, Board meeting. She is one of 10 honorees statewide. She is pictured with Vivian Childs who presented Horne with a plaque and bag of gifts.
Childs organizes an annual event, It’s Time!” Unity Conference, to recognize exceptional female educators across the state. “This award is designed to recognize those women who succeed in excellence, expertise, and extraordinary achievements in their school district,” said Childs. “It is also designed to recognize those women who support the growth of the students in their schools by preparing them to excel in all areas.”
