HOUSTON COUNTY, GA – Perry High School senior Christine Sanders presented the Champion Limousin Steer at the Georgia Young Farmers Association Cattle Show held August 27, 2011.  Christine’s steer weighs 1,050 pounds.

Perry High Agriculture Teacher Philip Gentry said, “Christine works with her steer every day.  She washes, walks, brushes, and trains her steer ‘Jack’ to perform well in the show.  Christine purchased her steer in March from Matt Shirley in Commerce, Ga.

She will continue to show at cattle shows across the state and finish her show career at the Georgia Junior National Livestock Show in February.  Her father, Terry Sanders, is very instrumental in helping Christine with her livestock project.”
