The Republican National Convention starts August 27th, but Saturday in Perry some heavy GOP hitters came together for their annual Grand Ol' Fish Fry.

Formerly known as Sonny's Fish Fry, the gathering is meant to generate buzz about the upcoming convention and hear the concerns of the public.

Some pretty big names showed up to the fish fry, like Senator Johnny Isakson and Congressman Austin Scott.

Both said attending the event is incredibly important.

"Well for me, as a member of congress it gives you the opportunity to come in and listen to people, find out what's on their mind," says Scott. "When I came in people were expressing their discontent with some of the things that passed this week in Washington and that's one of the things that makes America great."

• Middle Georgia T-SPLOST: (Includes Bibb, Houston, Jones, Monroe, Crawford, Peach, Pulaski, Twiggs, Wilkinson, Baldwin, Putnam counties):  

No has 56 percent of the vote with 73 percent of precincts reporting.

• Central Savannah T-SPLOST: (Includes Hancock and Washington Counties):

Yes has 54 percent of the vote with 69 percent of precincts reporting.

• Heart of Georgia T-SPLOST: (includes Laurens, Johnson, Treutlen, Wheeler, Telfair, Dodge, Bleckley and Wilcox counties):

Yes has 52 percent of the vote with 76 percent of precincts reporting.

• River Valley T-SPLOST: (includes Taylor, Macon and Dooly counties):

Yes leads with 54 percent, 81 percent of precincts reporting.

Tuesday marks Election Day.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.

When you go to vote, be sure to take your Georgia license, passport or military photo ID. You'll need to show that before voting.

If you need to doublecheck your polling location, enter your information and the database will show you where you're registered.
