Day 3 of 13 Days of Giving: Twilight Moms

Twilight Moms of Middle Georgia is a non-profit group that was formed in 2009 to bring together Moms (women who are over 21, married or have children) who are fans of the Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer.

They not only enjoy meeting and sharing enthusiasm for this series but love helping local and national charities while having fun.

How You Can Help:
Twilight Moms will have an event on Dec. 3 from 10 p.m.-Midnight at the Galleria in Centerville.  Twilight Moms will celebrate the release of Eclipse on DVD but will also have several fundraisers during the event.  They will have a Cookies for Kids with Cancer bake sale, will collect items for Christmas for the Children’s Hospital and will also collect canned food items for Monroe County EMS.

Contact the Twilight Moms of Middle Georgia by e-mailing cindyadrien@twilightmomsofmiddlega.com or call 478-951-4311.

We'll have more on 13WMAZ Eyewitness News.

Perry High to Present Annual Interactive Cemetery Tour

Perry High to Present Annual Interactive Cemetery Tour

Perry High School drama students will present an annual interactive tour of Perry’s historic Evergreen Cemetery on Saturday, Dec. 11 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Tours last approximately 25 minutes and are given every 15 minutes beginning at the front gates.   The tour is called “Echoes of Evergreen.”

The tour introduces the audience to residents buried in Evergreen and provides insight into what role they played in the community.  The guided tours include monologues by the students in period costume.  The production is a partnership between Joe Sendek, drama teacher, and Ellie Loudermilk, Perry historian.

Perry Players to Perform "The Homecoming"

Perry Players will perform "The Homecoming" on opening night on Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m.

According to Perry Player's website, “The Homecoming” is based on the book by Earl Hamner, Jr. and directed by Linda Deibert.

This Christmas story is set in Appalachia during the Great Depression. A large family faces hardship but finds strength and love in their neighbors and themselves. This tale about the importance of family allows audiences to reminisce about what family life was like before the days of television and cell phones, when a simpler way of life was the norm.

The show will performed Dec. 3-5 and again from Dec. 8-12. All performances begin at 7:30 p.m.
